Emily Watkins
Principal Teacher
Emily is passionate about working with students and families as they learn together. She has a BA in International Relations from Wheaton College and an MA in Practical Theology with a focus on Spiritual Formation from Regent College, Vancouver. She has worked as a school Chaplain, Teacher, Headmaster, and Director of Instruction over the past two decades. She is excited to be administering and teaching at Hildegard’s Cottage as working with homeschool families and developing courses in multiple disciplines is delightful. The ideas of Charlotte Mason have formed her as a teacher and parent.
She lives with her husband and four sons in Milwaukee. Her family enjoys reading, board games, playing soccer and tennis, traveling, and hiking together.
Kirsten Telwak
Spanish Teacher
Kirsten is a wife and homeschooling mom of four. She holds a Master of Arts in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture from Marquette University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University, and a TEFL certification. She has taught Spanish at various levels from elementary to higher education, and has taught ESL virtually.
Kirsten enjoys traveling with her children and spending unstructured time outdoors. She is also passionate about growing fellowship between homeschooling families in the US and Latin America, spending much of her free time creating bilingual resources by request.

Private Tutoring
Email hildegardscottage@gmail.com to arrange tutoring for your student. Often even a few sessions can help a student gain confidence and master skills. Please note in the email what subject(s), grade of the student, and current curriculum/method. Tutoring is $40 an hour.
Homeschool Consultation
Email hildegardscottage@gmail.com to arrange a homeschool consultation. The first meeting is free as we assess what help you are looking for in your homeschool. Full plans, help with curriculum choices, and instruction on educational techniques are all available. $50 an hour.
Homeschool Review
Email hildegardscottage@gmail.com to arrange a homeschool review. You may opt to meet 2-4 times a year to assess student growth, curriculum success, and areas for growth in your homeschool. This is a time for you to learn and grow as a homeschool teacher while being encouraged by the progress you have made. You will be given a form to highlight your objectives and with some questions for reflection so the sessions can be joyful and productive. Reviews are $50 a session.
*If you want to look at individual student growth and have multiple students a double session may be needed. This will be discussed before the meeting.
